Harvest

Growing is a passion and love, and growing high-quality cannabis plants is the result of meticulous attention to detail. Here at TTR our entire process is driven and fueled by workfilled days, sleepless nights and relentless care. Aimed at freeing the mind and healing the bodies of our customers. For us it all starts in the dirt. We generally begin our season in mid May to early June, temperamental Michigan weather permitting, we grow through summer and into late fall. In fall our 72 acre ranch becomes alive with Autumn colors both on our plants and in our forests. Now what controls this flowering mechanism in the cannabis plants and other deciduous and non-deciduous trees? Forcing plants to flower is a matter of controlling the light. Cannabis plants tend to remain in the vegetative state during Summer-like lighting – 18-24 hours per day. Shifting the plants from vegetative to flowering state typically involves shifting the lighting cycle to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark, similar to Fall. Carefully monitoring the color of the trichomes on the plant’s flowers and leaves determines when the plants are ready. Around harvest time, trichomes turn from clear to more of a milky white, and then to amber. The desired ratio of compounds dictates whether to harvest at the end of the milky white stage or during any previous developmental stage.
